INTRODUCTION --------------- Brand new fed, brand new FAQ. Or mostly so, modified with liberties from the Bastardnomicon, as written by Kyle Lee. ---------------------- 2. WHAT IS LEGACY PRO? ---------------------- -A- THE BASICS LEGACY Pro is a fantasy e-wrestling promotion, or e-fed for short. It's designed to allow its members the chance to control a wrestling character of their own creation, interact with other members and characters, control their career, etc. LEGACY Pro is not an actual wrestling organization, it's for entertainment purposes only. The one and only purpose is to have FUN. For now LEGACY Pro will focus on the Northeast territory with runs between Toronto, New York, Boston and Chicago and outlying areas. Further expansion later on may be possible. -B- HISTORY THE UNIVERSAL WRESTLING FEDERATION (1996-2012) The UWF was a worldwide wrestling promotion, anchored in Toronto, Canada and operated for years on a North American touring schedule. With weekly programs and quarterly pay per view events, the UWF became one of the hottest promotions in the business and for years outlived all other competing companies. Home to legendary competitors such as "The Epitome of Evil" Serge Annis, "Crimson" Joe Reed, "Doomsayer" Kyle Lee and others, the UWF became the standard bearer for wrestling in the late 90's and 2000's. But thanks to mismanagement on the business side of things and multiple changes in ownership the UWF fell into disarray and a class action lawsuit was launched in early 2012, Forcing the UWF to cease operations and its employees to be released from their contracts. The lawsuit continues to be held up in court over ownership of the name and most assets held. From the ashes of the mighty UWF are born LEGACY Pro, a new promotion with strong ties to the past. -C- WHO RUNS LEGACY PRO? In the real world, LEGACY Pro is run by Mike Beeby. In the fantasy world of LEGACY Pro however, it is owned by semi-retired wrestler and former UWF and MBC World Champion "Hellraiser" Tom Landis. Landis doesn't take an active role in the company however, aside from sitting on a championship committee with a select group of retired wrestlers. Day to day operations are conducted by David Rogers, former play by play man and Voice of the UWF. The president's role is not to appear on television except in the event of major rulings and announcements regarding the company. (Note: there is a moratorium on any power play angles or attempted takeovers of LEGACY Pro. Do not ask, there are no exceptions at this time.) ------------ 3. THE SHOWS ------------ -A- BREAKOUT Breakout is LEGACY Pro's television program, it airs on television and then offered online immediately afterwards as well. 5-6 matches air each week, and commentary is provided by Amy Marshall and Sam Steeley. -B- FIRST STRIKE First Strike is LEGACY Pro's online countdown show, prior to Breakout. Hosted by Jesse DeCarlo, it offers pre-match thoughts by the wrestlers and the latest up to date news around the promotion. It'll also feature a dark match or two held prior to Breakout. -C- HOUSE SHOWS In addition to the tv show, LEGACY Pro will be running periodic house shows as well, results of which will appear on the website. House show reports are written strictly for fun and do not have any specific meaning. These reports can be used to test new gimmicks and storyline ideas, as well as to enhance current storylines which take place on LEGACY Pro television. Again, these are strictly for fun and continuity, as well as to enhance storylines for the next cycle. Input from handlers is accepted and appreciated, but not critical. As well, house show losses are not a reason to complain to the fedhead about a lack of push. Again, house shows are run simply FOR FUN. ------------- 4. SUPERCARDS ------------- -A- I-PAY-PER-VIEWS The goal of LEGACY Pro is to put on special iPPVs once established. Despite having ties to the UWF, the focus is not to expand too quickly but to enjoy moderate growth. iPPV's will fill the need when special larger shows arise for now, though the traditional PPV model may be adopted in the future. ------------------------ 5. BEHIND THE MICROPHONE ------------------------ -A- AMY MARSHALL (Play by Play) Lead announcer for LEGACY Pro will be Amy Marshall. The longtime announcer for UWF began her career as a backstage interviewer, but quickly proved adept at handling commentary duties and was added to the broadcast team in 1997. After many years learning at the feet of David Rogers, Amy is ready to become the voice of LEGACY Pro in the same manner her mentor was the voice of the UWF. -B- SAM STEELEY (Color Commentator) The original color commentator for the UWF, Sam is back in his familiar position for LEGACY Pro and will join Amy ringside to call the action. Legendary for his mouth getting him into trouble, Sam is excited to be back in action after an extended vacation from the sport. It is rumored Sam had luck gambling in Las Vegas and won a small fortune during his hiatus from the sport, but this has not been confirmed. -C- CAMMY MAGNUS A new addition to the broadcast team is young Cammy Magnus. The twenty- two year old Broadcast Communications graduate first dipped her toes into the world of wrestling with the UWF in its final months, co-hosting an online program with former announcer Moe Owens and then moving into a position as a backstage interviewer. She'll resume her interviewer duties for LEGACY Pro. -D- STAN THOMAS A familiar face to wrestling fans, LEW in particular, Stan Thomas is aboard with LEGACY Pro as a backstage correspondent as well. Stan has worked off and on as a ring announcer, backstage interviewer and radio/Internet show host. He considers himself a fan first and foremost, so he's not the type to engage in hard-hitting questions, and often lets wrestlers take control of the interview, although he'll certainly take exception to any heelish actions he considers to go too far. -E- JESSE DECARLO Another former intern and student with the UWF, Jesse DeCarlo will be handling the online countdown program for LEGACY Pro. Adept at social media and technology as well as possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling history, Jesse is the UWF and now LEGACY Pro's biggest fan. Rumors that he's involved with Cammy are thus far unsubstantiated (and completely denied by her). ----------- 6. REFEREES ----------- The lone holdover from the UWF days, Scott Ingraham is LEGACY Pro's senior referee. He's gotten somewhat better at keeping a handle on the action inside the ring, but still tends to miss some important calls from time to time. His crew of officials includes Tim Rhodes, a young protege from Calgary, and Liz Shepherd, a female referee trying to prove herself in a male dominated profession. ------------ 7. ROLEPLAYS ------------ -A- CONTENT Roleplays are a major component of creating and guiding a character. The better the quality of your roleplay, the better the chances of getting a push(so long as the roleplays are part of an angle). Use your judgement with regards to content, but keep this in mind: anything that you wouldn't see on real life television won't get run on Breakout or First Strike either. If you have to use profanity, [BLEEP] it out or don't use it at all(within reason, the normal words you hear on TV are alright to use). Racism, gratuitous sex, extreme violence, these are the main things to avoid. If you have a question about doing something in a roleplay, ask the fedhead if it's okay, don't just go ahead and do it assuming that it is. -B- APPROVAL The fedhead has the right not to use an RP if he feels the content is questionable, and might send the roleplay back to allow the opportunity of a re-write. It's rare, but it happens. -C- ACTIVITY Handlers are encouraged to contact each other about working storylines, but bear in mind that the fedhead may have input in some things. Bear in mind that, if you do agree to take part in a storyline with another handler and then fail to roleplay, you risk having said storyline ending sooner than you may have planned and losing matches as a result. So if you agree to a storyline with another handler, stick with it and stay active. Understandably, real-life issues could get in the way of your participation, but if that does happen, kindly notify the fedhead so he may make adjustment as needed. If you feel you need time off and your characters must remain inactive for a period of time, just tell the fedhead and your characters will not be booked for matches until you are ready to return to activity. -D- DEADLINES AND NOTES The UWF was as known for its production delays as it was for anything else, and that's something I aim to change with LEGACY Pro. I don't want to be weeks or even months behind in schedule, which means there's going to be very little tolerance in missed deadlines. No matter where you are on the card, from opening up to main event if you miss a deadline without warning or a given reason for it, you run the risk of strats or flashes not being used. Location flashes, anything not set specifically at the arena for Breakout is meant to be aired on First Strike, which is by definition the flash show. Multiple segments are discouraged, we're trying to keep shows from ballooning up to several hundred k per show. Quality over quantity. It is the fedhead's final decision whether to use material if it comes in past the deadline. If you are going to miss it and require an extension, contact the fedhead as soon as you can. An extension of a few specific days will be possible, but just asking for an extension "until whenever I get it done" will not. If extensions are granted, then the material is to be completed by the time the extension is up or it will not be used. If all Breakout matches are done, the show will not be held up for any flashes, on-cards, or anything else from handlers, period. With regards to iPPVs, the bulk of material should be on the pre-show. Anything specific for the iPPV is to be kept short, ie backstage interview segments. And if something isn't finished by the time the pre-show goes out, the fedhead has the final say as to whether unfinished flashes or whatever are allowed to go on the iPPV or not. -E- SQUASH MATCHES Something that can add to presentation are squash matches. I'm not against running one or two for every set of shows, primarily they'd go on First Strike but under certain circumstances placing one on the main show, Breakout, may be permitted as well. To cut down on the workload, we leave it up to handlers to write their own squashes, using one of the designated jobbers or JTTS designed for such use. It should still be written in the hybrid style used for all LEGACY Pro matches, fully written squash matches will not be used. --------------------- 7. MISCELANEOUS RULES --------------------- -A- ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL, NO REFUNDS All booking decisions are final. There's a method behind the madness, even if you don't always see it. Any questions you might have with a win or a loss can be brought up to the fedhead, but if it's just to whine that you should have won because you were better, save your breath. And it doesn't do any good to whine to people who aren't the fedhead either. -B- THAT TIME HONOURED TRADITION If you decide to leave LEGACY Pro and are currently a champion of some sort, you will be made to drop the title to another wrestlers. Save for extremely rare occasions(determined by the fedhead, not the handler), nobody will be allowed to vacate a title upon their leaving the fed. -C- IT'S ONLY FUN UNTIL SOMEONE LOSES AN EYE (aka The Moxy Blue Rule) Sneak attacks are permitted within reason, but no serious injuries to other wrestlers or characters will be allowed unless it's talked over with other handlers first. -D- ANGLES MAKE THE WORLD GO ROUND LEGACY Pro works on the basis of angles, as opposed to wins and losses. Storylines are the ultimate determining factor in how matches are booked, even though quality of flashes and strats are taken into account. Just because a character might go on a winning streak it doesn't mean they will automatically rise up the rankings. At some time, you WILL lose. And existing angles override outside strategies and run-ins, if two handlers have a match scheduled and an outside party decides to interrupt for the hell of it, that run-in will be ignored. -E- NO TOUCHING THE NPC'S The non-player characters, or more specifically, the announcers, officials and other people who the fedhead handles may not be injured or physically harmed in an angle without permission of the fedhead, and if you seek such permission, you better have a very good reason for why you are doing such an angle. As a matter of fact, all usage of NPC's require permission to use them, except for the interviewers, but keep in mind that the interviewers must be made available for everyone, so no attacking them. And if you do get permission to use an NPC other than an interviewer in a flash, please remember to stay true to their characters. If you don't, the fedhead reserves the right to edit such flashes. -F- PLEASE DO NOT FEUD WITH THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE What this rule refers to is our preference to stop doing "wrestler vs. person in charge" angles. There's been more than enough of these angles done in the UWF in the past, and we're looking to do something different than power struggles at the top of the company pyramid. ------------- 8. THE TITLES ------------- -A- THE LEGACY HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP The lone singles championship for LEGACY Pro, anyone on the roster is eligible to compete for it. Represented by the old UWF world heavyweight championship title belt, one of few assets rescued from the legal red tape. -B- THE LEGACY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Self explanatory, a set of tag team titles eligible to anyone on the LEGACY Pro roster, full time tag teams or single wrestlers teamed up. *- additional championships may be commissioned in the future. ------------------ 9.
